National Steel Traders

You can find National Steel Traders at No 21 in Narashingapuram. We’re specifically on the 2nd Main Road in Guindy. Guindy is a busy hub for industrial work, so being here makes sense for a steel business. Our space is mostly taken up by heavy metal—pipes, sheets, and bars. It’s not the kind of place you come to for a quiet chat. There’s usually the sound of metal clanging or a truck idling outside while we load it up. The office part is just a small section partitioned off from where the steel is kept. We have a couple of old desks and a lot of registers. It gets pretty hot in Chennai, especially in an industrial shed like ours, so we keep the big doors open for whatever breeze comes through. We’ve been operating out of Narashingapuram for a while now. Most of our days are spent checking measurements and making sure the right grade of steel goes out to the right person. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything; we just rely on the fact that people in Guindy know where we are. Sometimes the 2nd Main Road gets blocked with traffic, but that’s just part of life here. We just keep our heads down and handle the orders as they come in, trying to stay organized in the middle of all that heavy inventory.
