Mars Metal Process

Mars Metal Process is tucked away on Venkatachalam Street in West Mambalam. Our address changed from old number 14 to new number 34 a while back but we are still in the same spot. It is a typical Mambalam street, quite narrow and always busy with people walking to the station or the market. Inside our workshop, it’s all about the metal. We have machines that have been with us for years and they make a lot of noise and heat. The smell of oil and cut iron is always there in the air. We wear old clothes because everything gets stained anyway. It is hard work and your back starts to ache after standing on the concrete floor all day. We do various types of metal processing depending on what the customer brings in. Sometimes it is small parts and other times it is larger pieces that take a lot of effort to move around. We don't have a fancy office for meetings. Usually, we just talk to people at the front gate while the machines are running in the back. It is a noisy life but we are used to it by now. The neighborhood has changed a lot over the years but our little metal shop stays pretty much the same. We just keep processing whatever comes through the door and try to keep the machines running smoothly for as long as we can.
