Down in Mannurpet, specifically in the Coromandal Town area, you’ll find our yard at No. 78/8A. It’s an industrial spot, mostly filled with the sound of metal clanging and trucks backing up. We’ve been dealing with steel for a good while now. It’s heavy, dirty work, and your back usually aches by the end of the shift. We have various types of steel piled up in different sections. It’s not always perfectly organized, but we know where the rods and sheets are kept. Manambedu is a busy place for this kind of thing, so there’s always something happening. We spend most of our time loading and unloading. The sun can get really hot when you’re out in the yard, so we take breaks whenever we can find some shade. We aren't a massive corporation with a bunch of suits. We’re just guys in work shirts trying to fulfill the orders that come in. Sometimes a shipment arrives late and we have to stay after dark to get it sorted. The neighbors are mostly other workshops, so nobody complains about the noise much. We just keep our heads down and do the job. It’s about the metal and getting it to the right place. That’s really all there is to it at the end of the day. It’s been our life for years and we don’t see that changing anytime soon. We just keep moving forward.
