Manish Metal

Manish Metal is located at 44/7, Ekambareshwar, Agraharam. This part of the city is always buzzing with people and carts moving things around. Our shop is just a simple space where we keep our metal stock. It’s not very big, so we have to be clever about how we stack everything. The walls are mostly bare, and the floor is hard concrete that’s been worn down over the years. We spend our days measuring and cutting metal to the sizes people ask for. It’s noisy because of the traffic outside and the sound of metal clanging together. There’s no air conditioning, so we keep the doors wide open to get whatever breeze we can from the street. The Agraharam area has a lot of tradition, but we are just focused on the practical side of things. We don't have a receptionist to greet you; you just walk in and talk to whoever is free. Most of us have been working with metal for a long time, so we know the weight and feel of it without having to check too much. It’s a humble setup, but it’s ours. We work long hours, especially when there’s a big order to get out. It’s just how life is in this part of town. The tea here is strong and we drink it while standing among the metal sheets.
