Malasiya Hardware

My shop, Malasiya Hardware, is at 38, New No.75, right on Post Office Street. It’s a busy little road and we’ve been here for a long time now. The shop is pretty packed with stuff from the floor to the ceiling. If you walk in, you might think it’s a bit of a mess, but I generally know where everything is tucked away. We have all the usual things like nails, hammers, and plumbing pipes that people need for their houses. I spend most of my day behind the counter, talking to neighbors who come in for one specific screw or a piece of wire. Sometimes we don’t have exactly what they want, so I have to order it in, which takes a few days. Post Office Street is always noisy with people passing by, and we get a lot of walk-in customers just looking for advice on how to fix a leaky tap. It’s not a big corporate store, just a local place where we know many of our customers by name. The back room is full of crates that I haven't had time to sort through lately. My hands are usually a bit dirty from handling the metal stock. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just a practical shop for people who have work to do at home. I like being here and seeing the same faces every week.
