Mahendra Metal Corporation

We’ve been here at Old No 177, though the records show New No 392 now, right on Wall Tax Road in Park Town. It is a busy part of the city and there is always something going on outside our doors. Mahendra Metal Corporation isn't a fancy place with carpets or anything like that. We just have a lot of metal piled up and people coming and going all day. My father started things around here and we just kept it moving. It gets really dusty with all the traffic from the station and the markets nearby. We usually open up early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. Most of our days are spent checking stock or talking to the lorry drivers who are trying to navigate the narrow parts of the road. It’s hard work and the sun beats down on the roof, making the warehouse feel like an oven by three in the afternoon. We don’t have a big marketing team or anyone to write nice things about us. We just know our metal and we know the people who have been buying from us for twenty years. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on the stools until it comes back. It’s just how it is in Park Town. We don’t try to be anything we aren't, just a place where you can get your supplies and maybe a cup of tea if the timing is right.
