Mahaveer Metal

We are located in the middle of Parrys at the Rathod Complex on Nattu Pilliyar Koil Street. Anyone who knows Chennai knows that Parrys is one of the most crowded places you can find. The streets are very narrow and there are people and carts everywhere you look. Our shop is filled with all kinds of metal. We have sheets and rods and pipes stacked up in every corner. The building is old and the walls have seen better days, but it serves us well. It gets very hot inside because of all the metal and the lack of a good breeze in these tight lanes. We spend our days measuring and weighing metal for different customers. Some are small shop owners and others are contractors working on big buildings. It is a very physical job. You are always moving heavy things and your hands are usually covered in some kind of grease or rust. We have a small desk where we keep our ledgers, but we don't spend much time sitting down. There is a constant noise of the city outside and the clanging of metal inside. We have been in this same spot for years, and most of our customers are people we have known for a long time. It is a very traditional way of doing business. We don't have any fancy computers or bright lights. It is just a regular metal shop in a very busy part of town, and we just keep at it.
