Madras Spares Corporation

We are located at 25 Red Hills Road in Balakumaran Nagar, which is part of the larger Kolathur area. Madras Spares Corporation has been operating from this spot for quite a long time now. Red Hills Road is a major route for the city, so it is always loud with the sound of buses and cars passing by our front door. Our building is right on the side of the road, which makes it easy for people to pull over when they see us. We deal with spare parts, so the inside of the shop is basically row after row of cardboard boxes and metal shelves. It stays a bit dusty, as you would expect with all the metal and rubber components sitting around in the back. We do not have a fancy display area for people to look at. Most customers just walk up to the counter and tell us exactly what they are looking for. We spend a lot of our time looking through paper catalogs or checking the back room to see if we have a specific part in stock. Kolathur is a very busy neighborhood, and Balakumaran Nagar has a lot of small shops and businesses like ours. We start our day early, usually before the traffic gets really heavy. It involves a lot of manual work, like lifting heavy boxes and keeping track of everything that arrives. We just sell parts to people who need them.
