The streets are narrow and filled with shops selling everything you can imagine. Our office is right in the middle of that squeeze. It’s a busy building and our space is quite modest. We have a few desks squeezed in and some fans that work hard to beat the Chennai heat. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find a marble lobby. It’s more about stacks of paperwork and people talking over each other to be heard. We deal with a lot of logistics for the port and the local markets. There’s always someone coming in with a delivery note or a question. The street outside is a constant stream of bikes and pedestrians. We’ve been on Krishnan Koil Street for quite a while, so we know all the local shopkeepers. It’s a very grounded atmosphere. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We just help move goods from one place to another. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit and wait, chatting about cricket or the weather until it comes back. It’s a very human way to run a business. We focus on the daily tasks and don’t worry too much about being polished. It’s just us, doing our work in the heart of Parrys every day.
