Our office is over on Alagesan Road in the Bright Home Buildings. You have to go up to the first floor, Door No. A- 2, to find us. It’s a bit of a mouthful of an address, but once you get to Vedachalam Nagar in Chengalpattu, it’s not too hard to spot. Light Up A Million Villages India Pvt. Ltd. sounds like a big name, but we are just a group of people working on getting lights out to places that need them. The office is usually full of boxes and parts. We spend a lot of time on the phone or out traveling to different villages. It’s a lot of logistics and making sure things actually work when they get where they’re going. Sometimes the power goes out here too, which is a bit ironic given what we do. We’ve been at Plot No. 64/1 for some time. The stairs up to the first floor can be steep if you’re carrying equipment. We don't have a receptionist or anything fancy like that. If you come by, one of us will just look up from our desk and say hello. It's dusty work sometimes, and there is always something that needs fixing or shipping. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay organized, even if the office looks a bit cluttered with all the supplies we keep on hand. We've got a lot of stories from the road, but we're often too tired to tell them.
