Our office is Lemuir House on GN Chetty Road in T Nagar. It is an old building, number 10, though some people still use the old number 125. T Nagar is always buzzing with shoppers and traffic, especially near our side. We have been in the shipping and clearing business for a long time. There is a lot of history in these walls and old desks. We deal with customs and freight and all those complicated bits of moving things across borders. It is a lot of paperwork and waiting for approvals from the authorities. The office is usually full of files and people talking to agents at the port. We aren't a new startup; we have been around the block many times. We know how things work here in Chennai. Sometimes the systems at the port go down and we just have to sit and wait. It can be frustrating, but that is just the nature of the shipping work. Most of us have been working together in this building for years. We know each other’s families and tell the same old stories. We have our tea together in the afternoons when it is quiet. It is a steady kind of life. We don't make big promises or use fancy slogans. We just handle the cargo and make sure the documents are right. It is a lot of detail work that most people never see.
