Laxmi Doors

You can find Laxmi Doors at No: 23 on Ganesh Nagar Main Road. We are part of the G.K. Industrial Estate in Alapakkam. It’s quite close to Arcot Road, so the traffic is always buzzing nearby. This place is usually full of the sound of saws and hammers throughout the day. We make doors for all sorts of houses and buildings around here. The workshop is always covered in a fine layer of sawdust, no matter how much we sweep the floors. It gets into your clothes and your hair by the time the shift is over. We’ve been at this spot for a long time now. It started small and just stayed as a solid local business. We don't have fancy office chairs or a receptionist at the front. Usually, you’ll find one of us out back measuring wood or loading a truck for a delivery. The Industrial Estate is a busy place with a lot of different trades going on. We know the guys next door and the ones across the street. People come to us when they need something sturdy for their home. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just take the raw materials and build the doors. Some days the humidity makes the wood act up, and we have to be extra careful. It’s a lot of physical labor but it feels good to see a finished door leaning against the wall at the end of the day.
