Anees Doors & Panels

The shop for Anees Doors & Panels is on Linghi Chetty Street in Mannady. We are at New No.46, which used to be Old No.300, so it can be a bit confusing if you’re looking at an old map. Mannady is a tight area with lots of narrow streets and shops everywhere. We deal with doors and panels all day long. The smell of wood and glue is something you never really lose after working here. We have stacks of panels leaning against the walls and sometimes it’s hard to walk through the back. Customers come in looking for something specific for their house or a renovation project. We talk through what they need and see what we have in stock. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the different materials piled up. The street outside is always full of people and rickshaws, which makes loading things into vehicles a bit of a challenge sometimes. We just make it work though. No two days are exactly the same because the orders are always different sizes or styles. We aren’t a huge company with a lot of rules, just a group of people working together to get the orders out. If the phone rings, someone picks it up, and if a customer walks in, we stop what we’re doing to help them. It is a simple life and we like being part of the Mannady community. It gets very busy but we enjoy the work here.
