Larsen & Toubro Ltd.

Our place is out on Mount Poonamallee Road. It’s a pretty large area and there are always people moving around. Larsen & Toubro Ltd. has a lot going on here. It’s a bit of a commute for some of us, but you get used to the drive after a few months. The atmosphere is very focused on the work. You’ll see people in safety gear and others at their computers, all trying to keep the projects moving forward. It’s a busy environment with a lot of noise from the road and the nearby activity. We don't really have time for a lot of fluff. Most of our day is spent looking at schedules and making sure materials are where they need to be. The buildings on the site are functional and they’ve been there for a while. We have a cafeteria where everyone gathers, which is probably the most social part of the day. Otherwise, it’s just staying on top of the heavy engineering and construction tasks. It’s a massive operation, but when you’re at your desk, it feels like any other job. We deal with a lot of technical data and phone calls from various sites. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we just take it one step at a time. The heat on Mount Poonamallee Road can be tough in the summer, but the office is where we get the planning done. We’re just workers doing what’s expected of us to get these massive projects finished.
