Lakshmi Steels

We are located at 51, Am Plaza on Siddha Veerappa Street. It’s a decent sized building and we have one of the units on the main level. The street is usually full of activity, especially in the mornings when everyone is opening up their shops. We deal in steel, so there is always a lot of heavy lifting involved in our day. We have racks set up along the walls to hold the different pipes and rods. It’s important to keep them organized, otherwise, it becomes a mess very quickly. The air in the shop usually smells a bit like metal and old grease, which is something you just get used to after a while. We don't have a cooling system, so we just leave the front wide open to get a breeze. When the wind blows the wrong way, a lot of dust comes in from the street, and we have to wipe down the counter several times a day. We keep a small television in the corner to catch the news, but mostly we are busy talking to people or checking the stock. People around Siddha Veerappa Street know us as the place to get steel without any fuss. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just a regular shop where we do our work and go home at the end of the day. The concrete outside is a bit cracked from the heavy loads. We have an old metal desk where we keep our paperwork and a few spare pens.
