K.N.Engineers, Chennai

We are K.N.Engineers, and we’ve been working out of our spot in Chennai for a good while now. Being in Chennai means dealing with the humidity every single day, which can make the metal work a bit of a challenge if you aren't careful. Our workshop is our second home. It’s filled with the sounds of cutting, grinding, and the occasional hum of a motor. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning; we just work where the machines are. It’s a lived-in space, with oil stains on the floor and tools that have been used for years. We do a bit of everything when it comes to engineering. Some days are spent entirely on one big project, and other days we’re jumping between five different small things that people have dropped off. It’s a lot of physical labor, and by the end of the day, we’re usually covered in a bit of grime. We like the pace of things here. There is always a rhythm to the work, from the first cup of tea in the morning to the sound of the gates closing in the evening. We don't talk much while we're working because the machines are loud, but we know the routine. Chennai is a big place, but we’ve found our little corner and we just stick to what we know best. It’s honest, steady work, and that’s plenty for us. We just try to get everything finished before the heat gets too bad.
