Khandelwal Steel & Tube Traders is over at 81 Armenian Street. It’s an old part of town and the building has a lot of character, even if it’s showing its age. We handle a lot of steel rods and tubes, so the place is always full of heavy metal things. You have to be careful where you step sometimes. The street outside is usually blocked with trucks loading or unloading materials. We’ve been at this address for a good while and we know most of the other traders around here. It’s the kind of place where you get to know people by their faces more than their names. We don’t have any fancy signs or a modern lobby. It’s just a warehouse and an office area where we do the paperwork. The air always smells a bit like rust and oil, which is normal for this kind of work. We get all kinds of people coming in, from big contractors to guys just needing a few pieces of pipe for a home fix. We don't really do much advertising. People usually find us because they heard about us from someone else or they just saw the sign while walking down Armenian Street. The day starts early with checking the stock and ends late when the last truck leaves. It is honest work and it keeps us busy every day of the week except Sundays. We like the pace of things here at number 81.
