K. Rajaram

K. Rajaram is the name on the door here at 110/1, Pedariyar Koil Street. We are up on the 1st floor in Broadway. This part of town is always a bit of a squeeze. You have to navigate through all the shops and the people carrying loads on their backs just to get to the entrance. The building has seen better days, I suppose, but it works for what we do. It’s mostly just desks and a lot of ledgers piled up. We handle various bits of business that come our way, nothing too complicated but it takes time to get it right. Broadway is a place where everyone knows everyone else, so you end up spending half your morning just saying hello to the neighbors before you even sit down to work. The ceiling fan hums all day and we try to keep things organized despite the chaos outside the window. It is a simple setup. We don't have a big team or anything like that, just a few of us making sure the daily work gets finished before the sun goes down. Sometimes the electricity acts up or the noise from the street gets a bit much, but you get used to it. It’s a practical place for practical work. We’ve been in this spot for a long time and don’t see much reason to change how we do things.
