J M Engineering And Services is located in Saidapet, over at Little Mount. Specifically, we’re at 47/14 on L G D Street, which some people call L D G Road. It’s a bit tucked away, so you have to look closely at the numbers to find us. The workshop is where we spend most of our time. It’s full of heavy tools, metal scraps, and the smell of oil and grease. It’s definitely not a clean place, but it’s a working engineering shop, so that’s expected. We’ve got some old machinery that’s been with us for a long time, and it still runs better than some of the newer stuff. The humidity in Saidapet can be tough, especially when we’re doing physical labor in the middle of the day. We don’t have a front office as such; people just walk into the bay and talk to whoever is available. We handle various service jobs and repairs. It’s a lot of manual work and problem-solving. We use a lot of chalk to mark things on the floor or on the metal pieces we’re working on. There isn't any fancy marketing here. We just do the work that comes in and hope the rain doesn't leak through the roof too much during the monsoon season. It’s just us doing our best with the equipment we have on hand.
