Our office is located at F-15 in R.P. Colony, which is a quiet little corner of Chennai. It’s a bit away from the main chaotic roads, which is nice for us. The building is older, and you can tell by the way the walls look, but it serves its purpose. We have been working out of this space for a long time. In Chennai, the heat is always there, so we have the old AC units running most of the afternoon. IL&FS CDI Ltd sounds like a big name, but here on the ground, we are just a few people handling paperwork and talking to visitors. R.P. Colony is a decent neighborhood. We know the people at the nearby shops. Our day usually starts early before the sun gets too high. We have desks piled with folders. Sometimes it feels like we are drowning in paper, but we eventually clear it all out. We don’t have a fancy reception or a person in a suit greeting you. You just walk in and talk to whoever is free. It’s a very practical way of doing things. We don't really bother making things look better than they are. It’s an honest workplace. We drink a lot of coffee, the strong south Indian kind, to keep us going through the afternoon slump. That’s just who we are here. We aren't looking to grow into a massive corporation; we just want to do our jobs well.
