Our place is located in Saraswathi Nagar over in Neelankarai. If you know Chennai, you know this is down toward the coast, which gives it a specific kind of vibe. We’re on the first floor of a building on the North 3rd Cross Street, at LC 18 506. It’s a fairly quiet street most of the time, though you get the occasional bike zooming past or someone calling out to their neighbor. The air is always a bit salty because the sea isn’t too far away, and the humidity is something we just live with every day. The office itself is pretty basic. We have a few rooms set up with our hardware and desks. It’s not a massive operation here, just a dedicated group of us trying to keep things moving. We usually have the fans going full blast and work through our lists. Sometimes we take a walk down the lane to get some air when the screens get to be too much. Neelankarai is a bit of a trek from the main city center, but it’s a nice change of pace. We don’t have a big fancy sign or a lobby. You just come up the stairs and we’re right there. Most of our day is spent on the computer or on calls, dealing with whatever technical issues come up. It’s a simple, practical way to work. We like the quietness of Saraswathi Nagar because it lets us actually get things done without the constant noise of the central city traffic.
