Gupta Steel Traders

Our office is located at 123 Linghi Chetty Street, up on the third floor. It’s an older building, so the stairs can be a bit of a climb if you aren't used to it. Being on the third floor in this part of the city means we are slightly removed from the noise of the street, but you can still hear the horns honking down below. Gupta Steel Traders is more of a trading office than a big warehouse. We spend most of our time on the phone or coordinating with the yards where the actual steel is kept. It’s a lot of paperwork and tracking shipments. The office is usually cluttered with samples and files. We don't have fancy furniture or a modern decor. It’s just a place where we sit and handle the business side of things. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait a while to get back to our work. We know most of our clients through years of doing business over the phone, though some still like to come up to the office for a chat. It’s a very traditional way of working. We don't use any complicated software; we just keep track of everything in our books and make sure the orders are moving along. It’s a bit of a squeeze in here sometimes when we have a few people visiting at once, but we make it work somehow. It’s just us doing our jobs.
