Guna Spices

Guna Spices is located at 56, Mount Poonamalle High Road in Porur. If you’ve ever driven through this area, you know how hectic the traffic can get. Our shop is right in the middle of all that noise and movement. We’ve been here for several years, serving the people who pass by and those who live nearby. The shop is quite small and we have bags of spices stacked almost to the ceiling. It can be a bit of a squeeze when more than two people are inside at once. We don’t have any polished displays or fancy lighting. It’s just a straightforward spice shop. We get our supplies from the wholesale markets early in the morning and spend the rest of the day sorting and weighing them out. Dust from the road is a constant battle, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the counters. We don't bother with fancy branding or slogans. People come to us because they can see what they are buying. My brother and I run the place together. One of us is usually out making deliveries on the scooter while the other stays to mind the shop. It’s a lot of hours and the heat can be tough in the summer, but we are used to it by now. We just try to be honest with our customers and keep things moving. It’s a basic way to make a living.
