Gokul Industries

Gokul Industries is located at Plot No: 2 in Arumugam Nagar, which is over in the Poothapeadu area of Porur. It’s an industrial spot, so there are always trucks moving and people hauling stuff back and forth. Our place isn't very large, just a standard unit where we get our daily work done. The heat in Porur can be quite something during the summer months, and our ceiling fans don't do much more than move the hot air around. We’ve got a few benches set up and some old machinery that we use every day. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find people in suits. We wear what’s practical for the job. Most of the time, we’re busy with whatever order came in that week. It’s a lot of manual labor and standing on your feet for hours. Sometimes we run late if a machine breaks down or if we’re waiting on a delivery of materials. The neighborhood is full of similar small shops, so there’s always the sound of hammers or grinding coming from somewhere. We know the guys in the neighboring plots, and sometimes we borrow tools from each other if someone is in a pinch. It’s a tight-knit little area in that way. We don’t really bother with big meetings or long plans. We just show up in the morning, see what needs doing, and get to it until it’s time to go home.
