We’re based out of Nanganallur, on 45th Street, number 3A. It’s a residential street, so it’s a bit quieter than being on a main road, which is nice. Our office is a simple setup where we handle all the roofing orders and coordination. Roofing is tough work, especially when the sun is beating down on the Chennai streets. We spend a lot of time talking to people about their sheds and house tops. It’s not the kind of job you do from a chair all day. Even when we are in the office, we’re usually dealing with samples or looking at roof layouts. The space is a bit cramped with all the materials we keep for showing people. We’ve got a small team, and we all know each other well. Most of us have been in the roofing trade for a long time. We aren’t interested in fancy talk. We just want to make sure the roofs we put up don't leak when the monsoon hits. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook, and other times it’s quiet enough to hear the birds outside. It’s a decent place to work. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay out of the heat when we can. Even the small jobs take a lot of patience to get the angles right. We just take it one roof at a time and move on.
