We've been here on College Road for a good while now. It's a busy spot in Nungambakkam, and we’re mostly busy with the shoe business. Most days, we are just managing the workshop and making sure everything is moving along. People know us as Floram Shoes. It’s not a fancy setup, just a solid place where work gets done. There’s always leather scraps around and the smell of glue. We have a small crew. Some of the guys have been with us for years. They know the machines better than anyone. We try to keep things simple. Dealing with orders takes up most of the morning. Then we check on the stitching. It’s noisy sometimes because of the equipment, but that’s just how it is. We don’t really do big advertisements or anything like that. Most of our work comes from folks who already know where we are. Nungambakkam has changed a lot since we started, more traffic and new buildings everywhere, but we stay right here at number 29. It’s a practical location for us. We keep our tools sharp and our heads down. Sometimes the rain makes the road a bit messy, but we keep the doors open. If you walk past, you'll see us busy with crates or loading a small truck. It’s just honest work, making shoes day in and day out without much fuss. We like the routine of it all. It keeps us grounded in the neighborhood.
