We are over here at number 33 in Shanthi Nagar. If you know the Chinna Thirupathy area, you know it gets really busy during the day with all the local traffic. Fireman Refractories has been operating from this spot for a while now. It is a bit of a dusty place because of the kind of work we do with heat-resistant materials. Mostly we just deal with refractory items that go into furnaces and ovens. There is always a pile of bricks or some bags of lining material sitting near the entrance. The guys in the back are usually busy loading up small trucks or sorting through the stock. It is not a big corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. We have a small desk and a few chairs for when people come by to talk about what they need. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it is just the sound of the traffic outside. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can but sometimes the heat makes everything feel slower. Chinna Thirupathy is a good spot for us because the transporters know where Shanthi Nagar is and it makes delivery easier. Most of us have been working here for years and we know these materials quite well. It is just basic work, getting the right blocks to the right people so their fires stay where they are supposed to. We don't have much of a showroom, just the yard and the small office.
