Fedders Lloyd Corporation Limited has been our workplace for a long time, and the building we’re in feels like it’s been part of the landscape forever. It’s a fairly large facility, but it doesn’t feel like those modern corporate offices you see in the movies. It’s more of a practical, lived-in space where people actually get their hands dirty. The hallways are long and a bit dimly lit, and you can hear the sound of the machines running in the distance almost all the time. We have a lot of departments, but we all seem to run into each other in the canteen or by the main entrance. The parking lot is always full of old scooters and a few cars, and there’s a lot of back-and-forth with the delivery trucks throughout the day. We have stacks of inventory in almost every corner, and the shelves in the warehouse go all the way up to the ceiling. It’s a busy environment, but we try to keep things friendly. Most of the staff has been with the company for a decade or more, so there’s a lot of shared history here. We don’t have any glossy posters about our values on the walls. We just have a lot of work to do and a lot of people trying to do it right. It’s a big operation, but it still feels like a local place where everyone knows your name if you stay long enough. We just get on with it.
