Fastronics

I run this place along with my family, and you can find us in Pudukkudi, Kamuthi. My name is C. Thirupathi Raja, and I’m the son of M. Chinnathurai. We’ve lived in this area for generations, so everyone around here knows us. Our workshop is called Fastronics, and it’s located in Vazhimarichan, specifically the Pudukkudi Post area of Kamuthi Tk. This is where we do all our electronic work. It’s not a big shop with glass windows and air conditioning. It’s more of a practical space where we have tools spread out on the benches and parts stored in old boxes. People from the village and nearby areas bring us their things when they stop working. We spend a lot of time squinting at small wires and trying to find out why a circuit isn't connecting. It can be tedious work, but someone has to do it. The dusty roads out here mean we have to clean the equipment often. We don't have a website or anything like that; people just know to come find us if they have a problem. My father taught me a lot of what I know about fixing things, and now we just keep the business going together. It’s a quiet life in the Kamuthi region, and we like it that way. We just try to be helpful to the neighbors and make sure things are fixed properly before they leave the shop. It's a simple life for us.
