Living and working around the quarters at Camp-I in Ennore is a bit different from your average job. Since we’re right here at Etps, the work never really stops. You can see the stacks from almost anywhere in the neighborhood. It’s a place where everyone knows everyone because we all live in the same blocks. The salt air from the coast makes everything rust faster, so there’s always something that needs fixing or painting. Most of us have been here for years, moving between the different quarters like 6F and 7/5. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren’t from around here. Mornings start early with the shift change, and you can hear the hum of the station in the background of your whole life. It’s humid, and the sun beats down on the concrete, but that’s just Ennore for you. We spend a lot of time just managing the day-to-day stuff that keeps the place running. It’s not just a workplace; it’s where we eat, sleep, and raise our families. The tea stalls nearby are where most of the actual talking happens, usually about the heat or the latest repairs at the plant. It’s a practical life, focused on keeping the lights on. We don’t think much about the big picture, just about the next shift and making sure the equipment holds up against the sea breeze. It is just the way things are done here in this corner of the world.
