You’ll find us at No. 17 in Padavattamman Nagar, right inside the Sidco Industrial Estate. It’s one of those places where every door leads to a different kind of workshop. We’ve got our spot here among the others, and it stays pretty busy from Monday to Saturday. The estate has its own rhythm, with lorries coming in and out and the constant hum of industry. Inside our doors, it’s mostly about getting the engineering right without making a big fuss about it. We don’t have a fancy reception area or anyone sitting at a front desk. Most times, if you walk in, you’ll find us out back with the machines. The floor stays cool enough in the mornings, but by afternoon the fans are doing all they can. We focus on the orders we have on the books, moving from one task to the next. It’s hands-on work, greasy and heavy at times. We’ve known the neighbors for a long time, so there’s always someone to borrow a tool from or chat with during a break. The area has changed a lot over the years, more buildings going up and more traffic on the narrow roads. We just keep our heads down and handle the metalwork. It’s practical work for practical people. No one here is trying to be something they aren't. We just run the machines, check the quality, and make sure the parts leave on time. The coffee from the cart outside is what keeps us going through the long afternoons.
