Our place is located on Barnaby Road in Kilpauk, right at New No 49. It used to be Old No 25, which sometimes confuses the delivery drivers who are looking for Dhirajlal Maher & Sons Constructions Llp. Kilpauk is a pretty busy part of Chennai, so there is always a lot of noise and movement outside our door. The office is a regular space where we keep our project binders and old site maps. It has a bit of a lived-in feel because we’ve been here for a long time. We aren't the type of company with a big glass lobby or a bunch of people in suits. We are usually in our work gear, ready to head out to a site at a moment's notice. Construction work in this city means dealing with the humidity and the occasional heavy rains that mess up our timelines. We just take those things as they come and try to adjust. Inside the office, the shelves are packed with folders from years of different projects. We spend a lot of time on the phone with contractors and vendors. It is honest, practical work that requires a lot of patience. Sometimes we have a quick lunch at the desk while looking over a new set of plans. We know this part of Chennai very well and have seen it grow over the decades. We just stay focused on the bricks and mortar side of things without any extra fuss.
