Our Chennai office is located at 1/90, Post Office Street, which is a part of town that has its own unique character. Even though the name of the company mentions Nigeria, this is where we handle a lot of the local coordination and administrative tasks for this region. The street is usually pretty lively, and being near the post office means there’s a constant flow of people coming and going. Our office inside is fairly basic. We have the usual desks, some old filing cabinets that have seen better days, and a few fans to keep the Chennai heat at bay. We spend a lot of time on the phone or responding to messages. It’s the kind of work that requires a lot of patience, especially when you are dealing with logistics and different time zones. We don’t have a fancy reception area or a coffee machine that makes lattes. Usually, someone just goes out to get tea from the stall down the street for everyone. It’s a very grounded way to work. We’ve been at this address for a long time, so we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit, but our little office stays pretty much the same. We focus on the details of our contracts and make sure everything is filed where it belongs. It’s not glamorous, but it is honest work that keeps us busy from morning till evening, and we are okay with that.
