Our office and workspace is up on the first floor at 162, Evr Periyar High Road. It is a busy building on a very busy road. You can hear the buses and horns honking all day long from the windows. We deal with shoes, so there are always pairs sitting on the desks and empty boxes stacked up to the ceiling in the hallway. It gets a bit cramped when a new shipment arrives and we have to find space for everything. The carpet is a bit worn out in the areas where we walk the most. We spend our time checking orders and talking to the people who make the shoes. Sometimes we have to go down to the street to help a driver navigate the traffic so he can unload. It is a lot of physical work, even though we are in an office space. We have a small kettle in the corner for making tea, which is usually going most of the afternoon. The air conditioner works when it wants to, so we keep some fans going just in case. We are not a big corporation with fancy suits. Most of us just wear comfortable clothes because we are moving around so much. We have been in this spot for a while and the location is good for getting things moved across the city. It is a lot of checking sizes and matching up pairs until the day is done.
