Daumanik Steels

You can find Daumanik Steels over at Shop No. C- 38/39 in Moti Nagar. Some people know it as New Number 17 on New Gangamachari Street. We are pretty close to the Bamboo Bazaar, so there is always a lot of noise and activity around us. We deal in steel and related items. The shop is filled with various metal pieces, beams, and sheets. It’s a bit dusty in here, but that’s expected with steel. We don’t have a lot of room for a lounge or anything, just the shop floor and the counter. If you need something specific, you usually have to wait a bit while we pull it from the back. Dealing with metal is heavy work. My hands are usually dirty by noon. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and most of the other shop owners nearby are friends. We don't do much marketing. People just find us by walking through the bazaar or by word of mouth. It’s a practical business. We try to keep enough stock so people don’t have to go elsewhere for their metal needs. Sometimes the traffic on Gangamachari Street is a nightmare for the delivery trucks. We just manage as best as we can. It’s not a glamorous job, but steel is always needed for building things. We keep the doors open and the saw running most of the time throughout the week.
