Being in Mylapore means being right in the heart of old Chennai life. Our office is located on Devadi Street, which is usually packed tight with people, cycles, and those noisy scooters. Daedong Door is where we spend our working lives. We deal with doors and various parts, which might sound simple enough but there is actually quite a lot to keep track of every day. The building we are in isn't anything special to look at from the street side. Once you get inside, it is mostly just rows of shelves, desks, and boxes of parts. We have a lot of paperwork to deal with because of all the different items we stock. It can get a bit cramped in here when a new shipment arrives and we have to find space for it all. The staff here has been together for a while now. We know all the local tea shop owners and the guys who deliver the daily mail. It’s a very tight-knit little spot to work in. We don't really have big formal meetings with slides; we usually just talk across the desks to figure out what needs doing next. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just sit and wait, chatting about the traffic or how hot it is getting. It is just a regular office life for us. We handle the logistics and the sales without making a big fuss. If you come by to visit, you might have some trouble.
