Chandran Erection & Fabrication Works

Our workshop is over in the Round Building at Collector Nagar, specifically at No. 15/10. It’s a sturdy place, which is good because the work we do at Chandran Erection & Fabrication Works is heavy and loud. We spend our days cutting metal, welding pieces together, and grinding down rough edges. There are sparks flying pretty much all day long. It’s hot work, especially in the summer, and the noise from the grinders can be a bit much if you aren't used to it. We don’t have a nice air-conditioned office. We just have a small corner with a table where we keep our drawings and a thermos of tea. Most of our work happens on-site or right here on the shop floor. We build frames, gates, and whatever other steel structures people need for their houses or shops. We don't use fancy computer programs to design things; we mostly just use a chalk piece and a tape measure. It works for us. Sometimes we get a bit behind schedule when the materials don't arrive on time, but we work late to catch up. We’re just a bunch of guys who know how to handle steel and a welding torch. We aren't trying to be anything more than that. It’s honest, hard work and we just get it done here. The floor is always covered in metal scraps, but that's just part of the job.
