Civil Engineering

I run a civil engineering practice in the 600094 area of Chennai. This covers the Choolaimedu and Arumbakkam parts of town, which are always busy with something being torn down or put up. I don't have a fancy storefront; I mostly work from my desk and spend the rest of my time on various building sites across Tamil Nadu. I’ve been at this for quite some time now, so I’ve seen all sorts of construction issues come and go. Chennai is a tough place for buildings because of the soil and the weather, so you have to know what you’re doing. My work is pretty straightforward. I look at the plans, check the measurements, and make sure the materials being used are what they’re supposed to be. I don’t use a lot of marketing talk or try to impress people with big words. Most of my clients are just regular people trying to build a family home or a small shop. They want someone who will tell them the truth about their project and not charge them for things they don't need. My office is usually a bit cluttered with blueprints and site boots by the door. It’s a one-man show for the most part, though I do have some people I call when a job needs more hands. It’s hard work, especially in the humidity, but it’s what I know how to do. I’m usually around if someone needs a look at a site.
