Our office is at No. 16 on First Main Road in the C. L. C Line area of Chromepet. It’s a pretty easy place to find once you are in that part of Chennai. Ven Ponn Shoes is where we handle all our shoe manufacturing business. We have a lot of samples of soles and leather uppers sitting around on the shelves. It’s a very functional space, nothing too special to look at. We spend most of our time on the phone with suppliers or checking the quality of the latest batch of shoes. The road outside can get pretty busy during school hours, but it’s mostly just a regular neighborhood. We have a small team here and we’ve been working together for years. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows their job and just gets on with it. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. Most of our clients come through word of mouth. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish up the paperwork for a big order. The fans in the office hum all day long. We like Chromepet because it’s connected well to the rest of the city. We just focus on making sure the shoes are comfortable and built right. It’s practical work and it keeps us busy from morning till night. We just keep our heads down and keep the production line moving.
