We’re located over in Nagalkeni, right on P. P. Amman Koil Street. People get confused with our address because it’s New No. 3 but the old records still say 10/31. We just tell them to look for the shop with the leather smells. Chromepet has its own rhythm, and being in Tamil Nadu, the heat is something we just live with. At Blue Diamond Schuhe, we focus on shoes, mostly handling the tougher parts of the leather work. The street outside is narrow, so when a truck comes through, everyone has to move their bikes. It’s a dusty place, honestly. We have shelves full of soles and uppers waiting to be put together. The building is old, and the walls could use some paint, but it works for what we do. We have a small crew, mostly local guys who have been working with shoes their whole lives. The 'Schuhe' name sounds a bit different, I know, but it’s just what we call the place. My desk is right by the window, so I watch the kids walking to school while I handle the bills. We don't have air conditioning, just the ceiling fans that squeak a little. It’s a simple setup. We do our work, talk to the neighbors, and try to keep things moving. There’s always a pile of boxes near the door ready to go out. It is just our daily life on the street.
