Bismilla Sheet Metal Works

You can find Bismilla Sheet Metal Works at 148, S.S. Kovil Street in the Fort area. It’s a busy street and our shop fits right in with the rest of the trades around here. Working with sheet metal is noisy, so there is usually a lot of clanging and cutting sounds coming from our unit throughout the day. We have stacks of metal sheets leaning against the walls and tools hanging up wherever they fit. The space is a bit tight, especially when we have a big order to get through, but we make it work. It's an old part of town, so the buildings are close together and the air smells like metal and rain sometimes. We don't have an office with air conditioning or anything like that. We just work in the open shop where the light comes in from the front. Our neighbors on S.S. Kovil Street are mostly other craftsmen and shopkeepers, so we all know each other well. People bring us drawings on scraps of paper and we figure out how to bend the metal to match. It's a lot of physical work and we go home pretty tired every day. We’ve been at this location for years, and we just keep doing what we know how to do. No big speeches or complicated plans, just cutting and shaping metal for whoever needs it. It gets hot inside when the sun is out, but we just keep the fans running and stay focused on the metalwork.
