Bhushan Steel Ltd. has its office on the 3rd floor of Mount Chambers, which is No. 190 on Anna Salai. Being in Unit-1 means we’ve got a view of the heavy traffic that always seems to be crawling along the main road below. It’s a busy building with a lot of different offices, so the elevator is always in high demand and sometimes it’s just faster to take the stairs if you're not going up too high. Our space is mostly filled with desks, phones, and a lot of thick ledgers and stacks of paper. Even though the name says steel, the day-to-day work here is much more about numbers and logistics than actual metal. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the documentation is correct for the shipments. The office gets a bit noisy with the sounds of the city coming through the glass, but you stop noticing it after an hour or two. We drink plenty of tea throughout the day to keep our energy up and deal with the heat. It’s a standard office environment where people are busy typing away or talking on their mobiles. We’ve been in Mount Chambers for quite a while, so we know the security guards and the other regulars in the building. It’s just a regular place of work in the heart of the city, where we try to stay organized and get through the pile of work on our desks every single day.
