Belleze Spices

If you head to number 36 in Balaji Nagar, Kolathur, that’s where you’ll find Belleze Spices. It is a residential kind of area, so the pace is a bit slower than the city center. We have a small shop floor and a tiny office in the back where we keep the computer. Most of our day is spent checking the quality of the spices that come in. We get a lot of big sacks that we have to break down into smaller portions. It is heavy work and my back usually feels it by the end of the week. The light in the shop is a bit yellow and one of the bulbs flickers sometimes. We keep meaning to fix it, but there is always something else to do. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It is just a place where the work happens. The neighborhood is friendly and we often see the same people walking their dogs past the window. We have a small stool by the door where we sit for a minute when the store is empty. The shelves are made of wood and they have started to bow a little under the weight of the spice jars. Advertising isn't something we've ever really looked into. We just try to stay organized and get our work finished before it gets dark. It is a simple life here in Kolathur.
