Our business is tucked away on Venkata Mastry Street in Parrys. If you know Chennai, you know how busy and cramped this area can get. We are at New No. 10, which used to be 69 back in the day. We have been trading steel here for quite a few years now. The building is old and the stairs are narrow, so moving heavy metal parts is always a bit of a challenge. We don't have any air conditioning in the main area, just some old ceiling fans that struggle to keep the heat away. It is a simple setup with just a few desks and a lot of inventory stacked up to the ceiling. We mostly deal with regular customers who have been coming to us for a generation or two. We sit and talk about the market prices and the news while the boys in the back get the orders ready. It is a dusty environment and your hands will definitely get dirty if you touch anything. We don't bother with fancy brochures or any of that marketing stuff. We just know our steel and we know our customers. Sometimes the street gets flooded when it rains hard, and we have to move everything to higher ground. It is just part of being in this location. We like the bustle of the city and the fact that everyone knows us by name.
