You can find Steel India Corporation out on Kumarappa Puram Road. We are at Survey No. 404 and 405/1, which is quite close to Agarsen College in Madhavaram. Working with steel is a loud and dirty business. Our yard is usually filled with the sound of metal hitting metal and the hum of heavy machinery. There is always a layer of dust on everything, no matter how much we clean. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning that works all the time. Most of us spend our days outside in the yard or in the warehouse area. Madhavaram is an industrial kind of place, so we fit right in. The road near the college gets very busy with students and buses, especially in the mornings. We have a lot of trucks coming in and out to drop off or pick up steel. It is physical work and it can be exhausting when the sun is out. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do at Steel India Corporation. We just stock the metal and get it to the people who need it for their construction projects. It is a straightforward operation without any frills. We have a small crew and we all know our roles. It is not an easy job, but it is what we know how to do best.
