ARUMUGAM EXPORTS (INDIA)

Our office for Arumugam Exports (India) is located at No.32 on Sami Pillai Street. It’s a narrow enough street, so things can get a bit tight when a truck tries to come through for a pickup. We have been operating from this same building for quite a while now. It’s a bit of an old place with high ceilings and fans that have been spinning for years. We handle all our exports right from here. Most of the day is spent checking on shipping dates and making sure the labels are all correct. It’s not very glamorous work. There is a lot of paper involved, and sometimes the printer acts up right when we are in a hurry. The street outside has its own rhythm. There’s a small tea shop a few doors down where we usually get our mid-morning break. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day, from the vendors calling out to the scooters zooming past. We don't have a polished showroom or anything like that. If you walked in, you'd just see us at our desks surrounded by folders and sample boxes. We like the local feel of the place. It's home for us. We just focus on getting our products sent out to where they need to go, whether it’s across the country or overseas. It's a steady job and we take it one shipment at a time. We don't care much for big titles or fancy business suits. We just want to get the job done and keep our heads above water.
