Arogya Organic Store

Arogya Organic Store is located at 1, West Tank Road, right near the Marudneeswar Temple. Being so close to the temple means we see a lot of people passing by on their way to pray. The air around here often smells like incense and camphor. Our shop is small and we keep it as clean as we can. We have wooden bins filled with different grains and pulses. Most of the stuff we sell comes in big bags and we weigh it out for people. It’s a quiet place for the most part, except when there’s a festival at the temple. Then the whole street gets packed and we stay extra busy. We don’t use much plastic, mostly just paper bags and cloth. The floor is stone and stays relatively cool even when it’s hot outside. We spend time checking the stock to make sure everything is fresh. It’s just a few of us working here. We don’t have any big advertisements on the walls, just some simple signs showing what we have today. The bell on the door rings every time someone walks in. Sometimes people stay and talk about their gardens or the weather. We try to keep things simple and honest. It’s a good spot to be, near the water tank and the temple. We like the pace of things here in this part of town. Often, we end up sweeping the entrance because of the flowers dropped by the crowd. It’s a steady life.
