Architects

We are located on 2nd Cross Street in Thirupathy Nagar. Kolathur is a busy part of Chennai and we’ve been here at number 3A for some time now. Our name is just Architects, which is pretty straightforward because that is exactly what we do. We draw up plans for homes and shops around this area. It gets quite humid here in Chennai, so we spend a lot of time thinking about ventilation and how to keep buildings cool. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we keep our drafting tables and computers. We know the local streets well and we know how the building process works in this part of the city. Most of our day is spent talking to contractors or looking at site measurements. It can be a bit noisy outside with the traffic, but inside we just focus on the lines and the math. We don't have a sales team or anyone like that. When you call or visit, you’re just talking to the people who actually draw the plans. We like being in Kolathur because it feels like a real community. People stop by to ask questions about their renovations or new builds. We just give them honest answers based on what we know. It's a decent way to make a living, helping people put their ideas on paper so they can actually build something. It isn't always easy, but we manage to get the work done eventually.
