Ans Stones

Our place is at No: 50, Raghavachetty Street in Choolai. It’s a tight street and things can get a bit crowded when we are loading up. We’ve been dealing with stones for a good number of years now. It’s just how it goes in this neighborhood. You get used to the noise of the traffic and the sound of stones being moved. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just a practical space where we keep our inventory and talk to people who need materials for their building work. Sometimes it’s a bit messy with all the offcuts and dust, but that’s just part of the job. Most of the people who come to see us are from around the area or contractors who know where we are. We sit here most of the day, keeping an eye on the street and waiting for deliveries to arrive. Choolai has its own rhythm and we are just a small part of it. We don't really do much advertising; people just find us by walking past or hearing about us from someone else. It’s honest work, even if it’s tiring on the back. We make sure the stones are stacked properly so nothing gets damaged. Every day is pretty much the same, just handling the rocks and talking to the drivers. It keeps us busy enough and that's all we really ask for.
