Amsak Cranes

You can find us at No. 68 National Highway Road in Varadharajapuram. Being out here in Nazarathpet, near Poonamallee, means we have a bit more space for the cranes. It’s right on the highway, so we see all the trucks going by. It’s a dusty place because of the road, and the sun hits the yard pretty hard in the afternoon. We spend a lot of time outside checking the equipment. These cranes are heavy and take a lot of looking after. We have a small building for the paperwork, but nobody stays inside for too long. We prefer being out where the machines are. It’s a lot of grease, oil, and heavy lifting. We started this because we knew about machinery and it just grew from there. The guys who work here are mostly local, and we’ve known each other a long time. We eat lunch together under the shade of the big shed. It’s not a quiet job; there is always something clanking or an engine running. We don't have any fancy brochures or a front desk with a receptionist. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to find someone in a jumpsuit. The highway is always humming with noise, but after a while, you just stop hearing it. It’s just the background to our day. We just make sure the cranes are ready to go when they are needed. It’s a basic setup but it works.
